What we offer...

It is often difficult to know how much to budget for a painting/remedial project. We will meet with you onsite to go over the project, and offer you budget advice to help you make your project a reality. We will also advise you on the longevity of your current paint system and when to undertake the project.

Understanding what to paint and why is crucial to the success of any painting project. We will attend the site and go through the process of what requires painting and what doesn’t. Preparing an accurate scope of work is vital as it allows you to make an educated choice on the successful contractor, knowing that all tenders/quotations received are priced on work consistency.

The what and the how is important. Knowing what to paint is important, however knowing how to prepare a surface and what paint products to apply is critical. All paint products are manufactured differently to protect substrates/surfaces in various ways for various durations. The correct paint system is critical as it is the last layer of protection from paint’s enemies - sun, salt, moisture and day to day wear & tear. We will provide you with the right paint system tailored to your project. We also work with each of the major paint manufacturers directly to ensure the system will meet the longevity you require and warrant the paint system throughout that timeline.

Not all painting contractors are the same and don’t all meet our expectations. We prepare guidelines that must be met at tender/quotation stage to be considered eligible to undertake your painting project. These guidelines include minimum standards around WHS, project management, cleanliness, workmanship, communication, access, timelines and payments. We will mitigate your risk by ensuring all contractors tick the right boxes to professionally undertake your painting/remedial project.

More often than not, there are underlying defects evident on buildings which can’t be fixed or hidden with a simple coat of paint. To undertake and complete any project properly and professionally, these defects must be identified and repaired prior to painting. We assist in identifying and rectifying these defects. We commonly uncover concrete issues such as drummy render, control joint failure, spalling and concrete cancer. Rotten timber is also common, as well as water ingress and waterproofing issues. Not only do we identify the issues, but we also assist in quantifying the repairs, ensuring all contractors price to the same quantities and/or allowances.

Every project must be completed safely and in line with WHS requirements. We help mitigate risk by ensuring that contractors have all WHS paperwork in place and that these processes are complied with onsite. This includes risk assessments, safe work method statements and material safety data sheets. Choosing the right type of access equipment to complete the work is also critical. We oversee the site access map to identify where scaffold, elevated work platforms, swing stages or industrial rope access is being utilised to complete the project safely.

Choosing a colour scheme can be an overwhelming experience. Colours are very personal and emotive. It’s often difficult to find common ground. We will advise you on current trends, styles and a design palette which won’t date. We can bring those colours to life on your property by providing you with superimposed images of the colour scheme. Let us help you to ensure your property is looking it’s best.

There are many behind the scenes checks and balances that set different painting contractors apart from others. Not all contractors meet the same levels of compliance. We help you mitigate your risk by ensuring that the contractor you choose is the right one for your project. We monitor licenses, white cards, police checks, working with children checks, insurance and contracts.

We can evaluate quote/tender submissions and provide you with an assessment criteria for each submission. We have created an evaluation matrix based on key criteria across each project. We use this matrix to independently evaluate and provide a no bias recommendation.

Once a contractor is chosen and the project commences, you need to be reassured that you’re getting what you have paid for. We offer ongoing inspections and project management to ensure your project is being delivered to the highest standards. Our regular site inspections ensure that quality, safety and progress is maintained. All of our inspections are documented. We have the ability to authorise progress payments and also confirm that any remedial repair quantities are justified. We ensure that all documented quotes and tenders on your project are delivered from start to finish.

Often we see that the final 5% of a project is the most difficult, but that should not be the case. We ensure that defects identified are rectified prior to practical completion. We also help you navigate your way through the completion stage of the project and ensure the defects liability process is in place. We organise warranties from the painting contractor and the paint manufacturer. We see it out to completion, ensuring the project is of the highest standard.
